• I'm applying from India for a spring start. Which deadline matters? SEAS lets graduate students apply for fall or spring, and each department sets its own dates. Electrical and Computer Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering both list Oct 15 for MS spring priority consideration, and both accept applications on a rolling basis.
• Do I need recommendation letters for the MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering? No. The department doesn't require letters for its master's programs, though it requires 3 for the PhD. It does ask for unofficial transcripts with your application and asks you not to mail hard copies.
• How much can I borrow to study engineering at UB? If your program is eligible, you can borrow up to $220,000* with no collateral needed, subject to our eligibility, funding and credit assessment*.
• What background do I need for Electrical and Computer Engineering? A bachelor's degree in engineering or in the mathematical, physical, behavioral or health sciences. You should also be skilled in mathematics through multivariate calculus, probability and statistics, and computer programming. If your background has gaps, you may be asked to take undergraduate courses that don't count toward your MS credits.
