Prodigy Finance FAQ: I am self employed or otherwise have a unique salary set up, how do I show proof of income?

Interested in a Prodigy Finance loan? Here's your chance to learn more about loan affordability and proving your pre-study income.

Prodigy Finance FAQ loan affordability and proof of pre-study salary

Before Prodigy Finance can extend a loan offer to a prospective borrower, we need to assess affordability.

A unique feature of Prodigy Finance loans is the emphasis on future earnings. We consider your earning potential after completing your international masters degree when assessing your application. Typically, this enables us to offer more than other lenders.

But, we still consider your financial history. We look at your credit history (if you have one), any savings or liabilities you may have, and other aspects - including your pre-study salary.

As with all responsible lenders, Prodigy Finance requires supporting documents to demonstrate each figure you provide us with when you launch your educational loan application.

To prove your pre-study salary, we request three months’ salary slips which must be dated within the last six months. In addition, you’ll need to upload one official, corresponding bank statement.

Of course, we realise that not everyone has permanent, full-time employment prior to pursuing their master's degree.

If you are self-employed or unable to provide salary slips, we’ll ask you for your latest tax returns and last six months bank statements.

If you have any questions about these documents, please email us and we’ll talk you through what is required.
