Admissions criteria

Embarking on a journey of academic excellence and professional growth, the Queensland University of Technology's School of Civil and Environmental Engineering welcomes aspiring students to its diverse programmes, each bearing unique entry prerequisites tailored to foster innovation and expertise in the dynamic fields of civil engineering, construction, and management.

Duration:

The programme can be completed in 1.5 to 2 years if pursued full-time, or 3 to 4 years if taken part-time.

Entry: Enrollment is available for both February and July intakes.

Civil Major Entry Requirements: For the 1.5-year programme, candidates need a recognised 4-year full-time (or equivalent) bachelor's degree in civil engineering, with a minimum GPA of 4.00 on QUT's 7-point scale. The 2-year programme requires either: A recognised 3-year full-time (or equivalent) bachelor's degree in civil engineering or engineering technology, with a minimum GPA of 4.00 on QUT's 7-point scale; or A recognised 4-year full-time (or equivalent) bachelor's degree in any other engineering discipline, also with a minimum GPA of 4.00 on QUT's 7-point scale.

Civil and Construction Major Entry Requirements: Similar to the entry requirements for the Civil Major.

Civil and Management Major Entry Requirements: The 1.5-year program mandates a recognised four-year full-time (or equivalent) bachelor's degree in civil engineering, with a minimum GPA of 4.00 on QUT's 7-point scale. To qualify for the 2-year program, applicants must possess a recognised 3-year full-time (or equivalent) bachelor's degree in civil engineering or engineering technology, with a minimum GPA of 4.00 on QUT's 7-point scale.

Application Timeline for 2024: Applications for both the February and July 2024 intakes will commence on 1 September 2023.

While the admission requirements for international students align closely with those for domestic students, there might be additional considerations to factor in. This might involve demonstrating your English language proficiency to ensure effective communication within the academic setting. Additionally, if your academic credentials are in a language other than English, it is essential to submit certified translations alongside the original documents.
