The Carnegie Mellon University – College of Engineering has been producing technically sound and innovation-minded engineers since 1905 to accomplish transformative results in the real world. It has been home to 55 members of the National Academy of Engineering and boasts more than 140 tenure-track faculty members. The college has around 30,000 live alumni members and adopts an interdisciplinary approach in its graduate programmes. Life at College of Engineering
At the College of Engineering, students live a life beyond conventional classroom learning. There are two meal plans types, traditional and community, that come at different price points to suit every need and budget. These options are also available at off-campus locations.

Admissions criteria
[Guidance for US Schools] Before applying to the College of Engineering, remember to research thoroughly and plan well in advance, as application review and processing can take time. Different programmes might have different requirements in terms of documentation or the subjects you have covered in your undergraduate degree. Also, note that your Bachelor’s degree should be from an accredited university or college. Make sure you adhere to all important deadlines as well.
Your application needs to include the following types of information in general:
- A completed online application form
- 3 letters of recommendation
- Resume
- GRE: Optional
- Answers to essay questions (if required)
- Unofficial transcripts from all institutions attended in the past (both in native language and English translation)
- Proof of English proficiency: You must obtain the minimum score in the following exams to be eligible- TOEFL Internet-Based exam: 8 and IELTS: 7.

Job Search Support: The Career and Professional Development Centre at the university helps students to secure jobs that fit their goals and skills. It hosts multiple fairs, events, and engagement opportunities to enable easy networking with potential employers. Lucrative Employment Opportunities: In 2022, 96% of those who pursued Master’s degrees at the College of Engineering found employment or continued to pursue education.
