About the school
The University of Toledo was established in 1872. The College of Arts and Letters at the university, which leads the liberal arts education and research, today aims to develop creative and collaborative citizens through their programmes in Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities.

Life at the College of Arts and Letters

Students of the College of Arts and Letters can choose between the on-campus and off-campus accommodation facilities available. The Commuter Student Services of the University assists students in finding off-campus housing facilities. The university encourages its students to live on campus due to the engaging and vibrant student life it provides.
Students can join several student communities and participate in campus activities. There are over 450 registered organisations on the campus. These student bodies provide great opportunities for students to connect and network with like-minded peers.
Students can opt for healthy and diverse meal plans according to their convenience. Rocket Dining at the University provides students with a number of menu options. It utilises fresh produce and prepares well-balanced diets. Students can also eat at various locations on campus, like Chick-fil-A, True Burger, Food Hall, Freshens, and many more.
The university boasts a baseball team, Toledo Mudhens, which is quite popular in the city. It also has its hockey and football teams known as the Toledo Walleye hockey team and Toledo Bullfrogs arena football team, respectively. Recreational facilities include the Student Recreation Centre, the Morse Fitness Centre, pools, group fitness sessions, personal training, and more.
Groome Transportation operates on-campus shuttle services for students and faculty. The students can download the TransLoc app to track the location of the bus. Apart from that, TARPS services are available for students to commute on the campus if they show a valid UToledo ID.

Admissions criteria
The following are the general admission criteria laid down by the University of Toledo- College of Arts and Letters for international graduate applicants.
- A 4-year bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- A minimum GPA of 2.70 out of 4.0 scale
- Official certified or attested copies of degree or diploma certificates
- Official transcripts are required. If they are not issued in English, their translations should also be provided.
- A Statement of Purpose needs to be submitted
- A resume or CV is required
- Submit a writing sample
- Provide 3 letters of recommendation
- GRE is not needed
- Applicants must submit proof of financial resources to support their study at UToledo
- Proof of English language proficiency is required. You must obtain the minimum score in the following exams to be eligible- PTE: 58, IELTS: 6.5 overall, TOEFL: 550 (PBT), 80 (iBT), and Duolingo: 105
