Admissions criteria
You will need to meet certain criteria to be admitted into UNT’s College of Engineering. Both national and international students have to meet this criterion.
First, ensure you’re on track to graduate high school with a standard college-prep curriculum, including four years of mathematics and science.
UNT requires at least a 3.0 GPA for engineering applicants. SAT scores of around 1260 or ACT scores of 26 or higher are typically needed for consideration.
Resume: Students must submit a current resume or vitae.
Statement of Purpose: A written statement of your educational and career goals, outlining how your selected program will help you achieve them, that is between one and two pages long and single-spaced.
Degree: A bachelor's degree is accepted in any segment.
GPA Requirement: You must have maintained a “B” (3.0 on a 4.0 scale) grade point average (GPA).
Official transcripts of all graduate credits from previously attended schools.
Three letters of recommendation from professional (work-related), academic (faculty) sources, and personal information.
Students with a GPA below 4.0 must provide three recommendation letters.

Extensive Internship Opportunities: Nearly 100% of engineering students participate in at least one internship, co-op, or undergraduate research experience before graduating. These real-world learning experiences allow students to apply what they've learned in the classroom and provide them with valuable on-the-job training and the chance to make professional connections that often result in job offers after earning their degrees.
