About the school
The University of Bridgeport - Ernest C. Trefz School of Business was established in 1927 in Connecticut. Previously known as University of Bridgeport’s School of Business, it was renamed in 2013 to carry the name of Ernest C. Trefz, a local businessman and long-standing university boardman. The School of Business offers three graduate degree programmes: MBA, MS in Finance, and Analytics MS. The university has become one of the most diverse universities in the country. With high-quality education and innovative teachings, the School of Business enhances critical thinking through applied learning and developing necessary skills as required by the students.
The Trefz School of Business has been accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programmes (ACBSP) Baccalaureate/Graduate Degree Board of Commissioners. The University of Bridgeton also received its Certificate of Reaffirmation of Accreditation in Anaheim, California, at ACBSP Conference 2017.
Where is the school located?
The University of Bridgeport is a small 60-acre campus located in Connecticut and is close to New York City, reachable within 1.5 hours, and Boston within 2.5 hours.
Life at School of Business
Located at the seaside of Connecticut, the campus has been ranked as one of safest colleges due to its extensive safety measures. The Trefz School of Business offers housing options to graduates on campus. The University Place Apartment is one of the prominent places for graduates to live, with a limited number of furnished one- and two-bedroom apartments. Admissions criteria
Generally, applicants are required to submit the following types of information:
- A completed personal information form
- A personal statement written by the applicant or an SOP (Statement of Purpose)
- Two letters of recommendation from an employer, academic, etc.
- Academic transcripts, which must be translated into English
- A graduate admissions test result (GMAT, GRE, LSAT)
- Proof of proficiency in a local language (country-specific)
- Resume/CV
- A GPA score of 3.0

The admission process for international students remains largely the same, with some key differences. The students must also submit a study permit and passport copy to show they are eligible to study abroad.
Proof of English proficiency: You must obtain the minimum score in the following exams to be eligible- TOEFL Internet-Based exam: 80, IELTS: 6.0, Pearson Test of Academic English: 58, Duolingo: 95, ACT: 19, and EIKEN Grade Pre -1.
Students on F1 Visas must show proof of funding
GRE might be waived depending on the previous academic performance.
