About the school
The University of Arizona (UArizona) was established in 1885 as a public land-grant university. The College of Social and Behavioural Sciences focuses on investigating ideas, transforming social conditions, and telling unheard stories, and is a gem on the university’s crown.
Ranked #32 for social sciences programmes in the US by Times Higher Education's World University Rankings 2020, the college adheres to the University’s vision of "A just world, together", - collaborating with community partners to investigate ideas and transform social conditions.
The UArizona alumni network is a powerful one spread across the country. Some successful members include Paloma Boykin (senior academic advisor, School of Journalism) and Arielle Devorah (communications director and campaign spokesperson for American politician Ann Kirkpatrick).

The University of Arizona prides itself on a diverse campus wherein activities and traditions enrich life as much as the degree you earn. Regarding accommodation, the campus has 23 dorms and dozens of fraternity and sorority houses. Students get single, double, and suite-style dorms and apartment options distributed among its form dorm districts. The university’s off-campus housing portal lists the latest rentals available near the campus for those wishing to reside outside the college dorms.
The university makes it a top priority to keep the students healthy. There are 30 on-campus dining locations wherein you can dine using your annual meal plan subscription. These include all-you-can-eat cafeterias, restaurants, and even vending machines.
The campus has every amenity you need to maintain your physical and mental fitness. Biking is encouraged, with bike valets available to park your bikes and the Campus Bicycle Repair Shop should you need servicing. There is a campus pantry, a greenhouse, an e-sports arena, a campus closet, and many other amenities to help you unwind after a long week or day. Hundreds of clubs and student bodies on campus serve every niche.

Admissions criteria
Admission requirements and fees vary for different courses. A general set of admission requirements is as follows:
GRE scores may be required based on the graduation programme of interest A GPA of 3.00 for a degree programme, 2.75 for a certificate programme, and 3.30 for an accelerated Master's programme on a scale of 4.0 is needed. For international applicants, the minimum degree requirement varies from country to country For those from countries where English is not the official language, proof of language proficiency is required: TOEFL - minimum 79 (iBT) IELTS - minimum 7 Pearson - minimum 60 Graduate English Language Endorsement from the Center for English as a Second Language (CESL) CEPT Full Academic test offered by CESL - minimum 110 For a student visa - an I-20 or DS-2019 form with proof of finances Must carry the Student Health Insurance Plan

The University's Student Engagement & Career Development (SECD) department is in charge of preparing all graduates for a more significant career goal and helping them remain aligned with opportunities outside of the campus. Kaplan Career Core is the University partner in training students to present themselves best professionally. This includes access to the following:

The SECD also arranges internship opportunities. It organises career workshops to prepare your resume, acquire interview skills, etc. An alumni career lab is available wherein students can find someone to mentor them on their professional path. It also arranges for internship and job fairs. Further, the online tool Handshake helps students stay updated on these prospects.
