Life at the College of Life Sciences

Academic programmes are offered on two campuses: the Jefferson-Centre City Campus, home to the Jefferson Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, and the Jefferson-East Falls Campus, which houses the Department of Biological and Chemical Sciences. The Graduate Student Association (GSA), established in 1969, is a group managed by students dedicated to assisting graduate students and enhancing the quality of campus life. Whether on campus or off campus, students have a variety of housing (from dorm- to apartment-style) and dining options. The Office of Residential Life offers a residential experience that is holistically oriented, providing a living and learning environment. Off-campus housing is a third-party resource provided on the college website. However, Jefferson does not sponsor or recommend any specific property, nor is Jefferson associated with the off-campus housing page. Students must research to ensure the off-campus rental they are contemplating is insured and adheres to basic safety requirements. The campus provides student athletics, activities, and exposure to the rich culture, art, and cuisine. Students can enjoy Philadelphia’s vibrant lifestyle and food through neighbourhood cafes and events, meal plans and activities, on-campus food trucks, and more. New international student orientations are held every year before the academic year commences. Students gain invaluable fellowship with their peers through events and charity groups, social groups, diversity programmes and industry outings, building pathways towards a better and more inclusive future. The Office of Student Engagement conducts extracurricular events to help students adjust to college life. Cultural, social, and educational initiatives promote individual development and community engagement.
