About the school
The College of Liberal Arts is the academic epicentre of Texas A&M University, driving the scholastic excellence of the institution. It is housed in the Liberal Arts and Arts & Humanities Building, a contemporary structure constructed in 2011. The complex is a sprawling facility, accommodating more than 17,500 students and almost 900 faculties. Encompassing 18 disciplines, such as Anthropology, Economics, and History, the college provides a holistic education to social sciences and humanities graduate students. The graduate programmes encourage research and foster leadership qualities under the mentorship of accomplished faculty members. The College of Liberal Arts is home to many doctoral students guided by a top-tier faculty, many of whom are Nobel Laureates, National Academy of Sciences affiliates, or recipients of illustrious fellowships. The name of College Station is derived from the train station located to the west side of the campus. The city is popular for being the best place in the US in terms of living for both old and young.

Students can expect holistic education backed by eminent faculty and a pool of talented alumni. Student Assistance Services (SAS) helps learners obtain support, resources, and guidance necessary to handle academic and personal aspects. Some areas where students get complete support include student welfare, behaviour concerns, referrals, transition issues, and absence notifications. All university community members, including students, faculty, and staff, can contact SAS for information and consultation. SAS can be found in the Student Services Building. Several residential choices are available in the Bryan/College Station vicinity. The Bryan-College Station area boasts of a variety of off-campus residential options. AggieSearch, a comprehensive and user-friendly directory, offers students, faculty, staff, visitors, and parents a system to find off-campus accommodations meeting their relevant needs. Student Life provides critical resources and information to all students planning to live or living off-campus. For the best possible living conditions, all students are advised to remain informed about the effective strategies for off-campus living, whether they are new to the experience or have been doing so. The institution has a range of meal plans to serve students’ varied tastes and preferences. These comprise the Block, All Access, and Dining Dollar Only plans. The meal plans offer Meal Swipes for unlimited access to dining halls, Retail Swipes, and Dining Dollars. The Aggie ID enables students to manage and modify meal plans within specified semester deadlines. The 12th Can is a student-operated food pantry open twice monthly. The Pocket Pantries Programme aims to offer temporary relief to students experiencing food insecurity at the institution by providing non-perishable food and toiletries. The university provides an inclusive transit system at no additional cost, covering both on-campus and off-campus areas. The service covers key residential areas and prominent apartment complexes.

Admissions criteria
The admission process involves several important steps: Applicants should first check their programme's website for specific application details Fee waivers may be available for low-income applicants and McNair Scholars with appropriate documentation Submission of official transcripts from all previous colleges or universities is mandatory Initial upload of transcripts for review is allowed but official transcripts are required for enrolment Applicants must provide official test scores from relevant testing agencies Codes are provided for GRE and GMAT scores - Depending on the programme, department-specific requirements may include: - Letters of recommendation - Statement of Purpose - Resume or Curriculum Vitae - Please verify specific requirements with the department of interest or visit - International applicants from non-English-speaking nations need to show proof of English proficiency. In partnership with student organisations, the Career Centre hosts 20+ career fairs each semester.
