Admissions criteria
The Institute for Advanced Analytics welcomes applications from talented individuals with a passion for working with data, and who look to succeed as data science professionals. Admission to the Master of Science in Analytics (MSA) is highly selective and students are considered from a wide variety of backgrounds. A general set of admission requirements is as follows: - Aspirants must hold a bachelor’s degree from or are in the final year of undergraduate study at an accredited U.S. college or university or its foreign equivalent - Experience with coding in one or more computer programming languages- demonstrates a strong aptitude for complex quantitative analysis and academic success - Professional or other experiences that display teamwork - Demonstrates maturity, self-initiative, and leadership potential - Meets the English proficiency requirements - Scores from standardized entrance exams such as the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) are not considered part of the MSA admissions process. - Complete online application - An unofficial transcript for each college/university you have attended - A brief (1-2 pages in length) personal statement - Resume/ CV - Three (3) recommendations In addition to a completed application form, international students need to submit the following documents: - An unofficial transcript for each college/university you have attended - A brief (1-2 pages in length) personal statement - Proof of English proficiency: You must obtain the minimum score in the following exams to be eligible- TOEFL Paper-Based exam: 550, TOEFL Internet-Based exam: 80, IELTS: 6.5 and 6.5 each subsection, Duolingo: 110. - Should have completed prerequisite courses before or concurrent with your application for admission to the MSA program. You must complete at least one, but ideally two semesters of college-level statistical methods, including substantive coursework covering regression analysis. - It is advantageous for MSA applicants to be familiar with technological concepts along with Coding Experience. - The MSA degree is officially designated as a STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) program. This designation, determined by the Department of Homeland Security, allows international students to extend their training in the United States by working in their field of study. Instead of 12 months of optional practical training, they have a total of 36 months under STEM.
