Lincoln Memorial University DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM) is about training the next generation of osteopathic physicians and health care providers. Established on August 1, 2007, the college offers quality educational programmes delivered through experienced faculty utilising innovative teaching methods and state-of-the-art technology. LMU-DCOM focuses on meeting the community's healthcare needs and beyond, with excellence in teaching, patient care, and services. Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) was chartered in 1897 with the mission to serve the underserved in rural Appalachia by providing educational opportunities. In May 2006, the LMU-DCOM building was set up, and the pedagogy is accredited by AOA COCA Provisional Accreditation and SACS COC Level V Accreditation. The curriculum is thoughtfully organised to integrate traditional didactic educational content with contemporary clinical experiences that emphasise the importance of evidence-based and patient-centred care. It prepares graduates to be entry-level occupational therapists, allowing students to build relationships with faculty and peers that often last a lifetime. It offers majors in Anatomical Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Life Science Research, and Veterinary Biomedical Sciences.

The college offers various academic support services, including one-on-one individual consultation, large and small group presentations, and peer tutoring. LMU-DCOM students have numerous opportunities to engage in on-campus and off-campus activities and events. LMU-DCOM Student Services provides monthly calendars and weekly newsletters to students for all upcoming events. Students can participate in intramural sports leagues, fitness classes, social engagements, charity fundraisers, community outreach, conferences and trips, and other Outdoor events. student activities aims to provide students with an opportunity to engage socially with their classmates, provide a stress-relief outlet, and promote a quality student experience at LMU-DCOM.

Students at the college have an opportunity to study in state-of-the-art facilities while engaging with graduate faculty from the School of Mathematics and Sciences, the DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (DCOM), Carter and Moyers School of Education and the College of Veterinary Medicine (LMU-CVM). There are many opportunities to participate in a student club or organisation. LMU-DCOM offers over 30 different clubs. The LMU-DCOM Ambassador Programme's primary role is to assist with admissions and recruiting efforts. Students involved in the Community Wellness Programme get hands-on experience teaching health and hygiene to local elementary and middle school students. Lincoln Memorial University is proud to offer various housing options for graduate students from on-campus to off-campus facilities.

Admissions criteria
It is important for students seeking admission to Lincoln Memorial University - DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM) to conduct thorough research on the Admission Requirements and Prerequisites of their preferred course. Admission Procedure: - All application materials must be uploaded and submitted to the Occupational Therapy Centralised Application Service (OTCAS). - The admissions committee will base decisions upon several components like overall and math/science grade point averages (GPAs), the personal interview, and personal and professional references. - Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores are NOT required for application. - Students consistent with the University's mission, applicants from the Appalachian region (TN, KY, VA, NC, OH, WV, PA, AL, GA) are given preference in the admissions process. - Students should have a bachelor's degree with 90+ hours (3+3). - Students who have performed exceptionally well during their first 90 undergraduate hours—minimum of 40 hours of shadowing occupational therapists. - Three professional letters of reference - Personal Statement - Character Reference Form (3 required) - Clinical Observation Verification Form - Technical Standards and Essential Functions for Physical Therapy Practice - Applicants who wish to use coursework completed outside the United States must submit their transcripts for evaluation to one of the following services: - Each applicant participates in one interview with two faculty/staff. The interview is closed-file and lasts up to 30 minutes LMU-DCOM seeks to attract and retain the best and brightest applicants whose career goals - are consistent with the mission and purpose of the college
Job placements
The LMU-DCOM Office of Career Services provides career guidance to students with email updates and presentations. The Office of Career Services and the Alumni Services office offers a monthly seminar series on residency match. Career services offers students a token for the AAMC Careers in Medicine during the first year of medical school. This is a career guidance programme with residency assessment tools. The LMU-DCOM Career Services office serves as the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) Dean's Work Station representative for LMU-DCOM. ERAS is the application service used for applying for residency match. The Blackboard organisation DCOM Career Services is available to all students. Students get information on residency programme opportunities, recorded Alumni/Career Sessions, and resources to assist students as they begin the residency application process. The Career Services office is the writer and editor for the Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE), also known as the Dean's Letter. Career Services compiles student evaluations from third-year clinical evaluations and transcript information for the MSPE submitted for residency application. The office of Career Services also serves as the Medical Education and Licensure Verification office for DCOM Osteopathic Physician Alumni. Career Services completes and submits all medical education verification forms for alums.
