Lamar University is a public university in Beaumont, Texas, accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools—Louis R. Pietzsch in September 1971 as South Park Junior College. It was earlier named Lamar College. The university is named after Mirabeau B. Lamar - the second president of the Republic of Texas. Lamar University currently has 1,255 undergraduate, 325 master’s, and 67 doctoral students. It is also ranked as the 7th most affordable Engineering college by Best Value Schools in 2021.
The College of Engineering has ten research centers coordinated under the Texas Centers for Technology Incubation (TCTI). The college participates in the Texas Space Grant Consortium, which supports space-based innovations.

Lamar University - College of Engineering also offers 4+1 pathways to graduate school. It provides a clear pathway to continue your studies at the university. During your junior year, you can apply to graduate school and take 2 classes of 6 hours. These classes count toward your graduate and master's degree. The following 4+1 programs are offered at the university - Masters of Engineering (non-thesis) with concentrations in Chemical, Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, and Industrial.

How to Get Admission to Lamar University?
To get into Lamar University, you can apply through the university's official website. The university takes students in three intakes -

How Hard is it to Get into Lamar University?
Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria to get into Lamar University. The university's acceptance rate is 84%, which means the admission process is not very competitive.
