The School of Business at the College of Charleston (estd. 1770) is a reputable business institution located in Charleston, South Carolina. Students enjoy a vibrant life at the College of Charleston. The College comprises a combination of modern architectural halls and ancient school buildings in a vibrant neighbourhood, surrounded by nature. There are more than 240 clubs and organisations to engage students in a variety of activities.

It hosts numerous activities all year round including the annual Spoleto Festival USA ( the premier arts festival), the Cooper River Bridge Run (called the best 10K race in the world), the Charleston Wine + Food Festival, and Charleston Fashion Week.

The College of Charleston provides for a great on-campus living experience with its variety of housing options such as traditional rooms in residence halls, on and off-campus apartments, and beautiful historic homes. The accommodations incorporate fully furnished bedrooms and common areas, WiFi and access to washers and dryers.

The College also offers a wide variety of food options at 11 practical venues across campus that include delicious meals like brick-oven pizzas, salads, grab-n-go sandwiches, fresh sushi, and even vegan and gluten-free options. The Campus Recreation Services staff organise various sports events like flag football, kickball and midnight basketball leagues, among other activities. The College of Charleston is a proud partner of the Spoleto Festival USA, the premier arts festival in America. The college also hosts multiple plays, musicals and operas every semester along with weekly classical and jazz concert series.

The Charleston Area Regional Transit Authority (CARTA) handles bus services on different routes, including the Charleston peninsula, North Charleston, West Ashley, James Island and Mt. Pleasant. CARTA offers free bus rides to students of the College on display of their Cougar Card (College of Charleston ID). The college also offers BikeShare and Rent a Car programmes.

Admissions criteria

Admission to the College of Charleston is fairly competitive due to the large volume of students from all over the world submitting applications.

  • A copy of transcripts of all schools attended

  • Proof of English proficiency: You must obtain the minimum score in the following exams to be eligible- TOEFL Internet-Based exam: 80, IELTS: 6.5, and Duolingo: 105
  • Language proficiency requirements can be waived for applicants who possess an undergraduate degree from a credible US institution
