Ohio State replaced Fenn College to establish Cleveland State University in 1964. Today, eight colleges offering business, arts and sciences, engineering, and law courses are under its ambit.
Cleveland State University's Monte Ahuja College of Business nurtures a vision to support the business community of northeast Ohio by creating and nurturing business-ready talents. Formerly known as the College of Business, Monte Ahuja College of Business gets its name from Monte Ahuja, an India-born, self-made entrepreneur who has significantly contributed to the development of the college and local business community.
The college is among 5% of business schools globally to be accredited by AACSB International, which recognises excellence in management education. AACSB International has also conferred a specialised accreditation to the college's Accounting programme. The college's alumni comprise a long list of luminaries. Matt Ghaffari (Olympian wrestler and business leader), Jack Cassidy (former CEO of telecommunications provider Cincinnati Bell), and Monte Ahuja are among them.
Monte Ahuja College of Business is located in downtown Cleveland, the central business district and the economic powerhouse of the city. Downtown is bounded to the north by Lake Erie and sits amidst picturesque settings.

To be eligible for graduate programmes, applicants must fulfil the following criteria:
- Submit a completed application along with a non-refundable $40 fee. Waivers or deferrals for application fees are not available.
- Provide transcripts and degree certificates from all colleges/universities attended. Applicants with overseas education credentials must obtain an evaluation from one of the approved servicers: Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE), World Education Services (WES), or SpanTran.
- Demonstrate proficiency in English by meeting at least one of the following requirements:
- TOEFL iBT (internet-based): 78 overall, with a minimum of 17 in each section
- TOEFL PBT (paper-based): 550
- IELTS: 6.0 overall with a minimum of 5.0 in each section
- Duolingo English test: 100
- PTE (Pearsons Test of English): 50
- iTEP: 3.8
- Achieve a minimum grade of 80% or higher in the Advanced Level of CSU's IELP (Intensive English Language Program) to fulfil the requirement
- Complete English language studies (Level 112) at any ELS Language Center
