Established in 1973, the J. Reuben Clark Law School has come a long way to become one of the nation's top law schools. The law school develops unique initiatives that result in meaningful conferences annually, academic conferences, innovative courses, and appealing experiential learning opportunities for students. The law school encourages students to learn outside of classroom limits to help them transform into leaders within global communities. The school has started to walk into multiple areas, such as social change, transactional design, entrepreneurship, corpus linguistics, criminal justice, and religious freedom, to empower individuals and communities by supporting them through lawful methodologies.

Life at J. Reuben Clark Law School
At the J. Reuben Clark Law School, students have the opportunity to engage in collaborative efforts with peers who possess outstanding academic and professional credentials. BYU law students strive to develop leadership and service skills that set them apart from others. The BYU Law School students may sense a positive educational environment motivating them to succeed in their academic journey and go ahead with confidence. To help students succeed, the school offers academic support and advising and guides them on bar preparation. The Academic Development Programme supports the students from their first day until they pass the bar exam. The BYU Law School does not have majors, minors, tracks, or certificates. However, it encourages students to be selective about a thoughtful and personalised training programme. This approach gives the students an idea of what classes to take in a specific area of interest. Students can get information from the Academic Development programme to meet their career goals. New students can participate in summer workshops that prepare them for the first day of classes. First-year and LLM students get a Student Advisor, a 2L or 3L classmate with a track record of brilliant performance. The Student Advisors offer person-to-person training and mentorship. Students can understand how to prepare for finals and select a co-curricular activity by attending additional workshops held throughout the year. Students can practice legal skills in live-client clinics. A faculty member or practising attorney guides the students in these clinics. The Community Legal Clinic and Timpanogos Legal Centre are two client clinics for students to practice their legal skills.

Students can build skills to promote peace agreements, negotiation, communication, and conflict resolution through off-campus activities. The Centre for Peace and Conflict Resolution (CPCR) trains students through mediation, arbitration, training workshops, research, conferences, academic courses, and consultations. Studying for the final exam becomes convenient with books from the Law Library. The library purchases many study aids to help law students with their exam preparation. The library is open for law students during regular hours. Students can benefit from the Moot Court programme by gaining experience in appellate advocacy. From writing appellate briefs to giving oral arguments, students can sharpen their brief writing and verbal advocacy skills to prepare for their professional lives. Students can comment and write short notes on articles written by professors, practising attorneys, or legal scholars. It helps students develop their ability to analyse certain cases or areas of the law and implement the knowledge in a professional scenario. The Trial Advocacy Team provides students with a smooth transition from study to practice of law. The programme helps develop the basic litigation skills applicable in any area of legal practice. The programme helps to generate highly efficient future courtroom lawyers who get national recognition for outstanding performance. Sports-loving students can connect with the Sports Club to participate in sports and intramural teams. The Law Student Wellbeing Club prioritises superior mental health to enable students to have fun in their academic journey.

Admissions criteria
Here is a broad view of the admission criteria required for students pursuing graduate studies at Brigham Young University - J. Reuben Clark Law School: Proof of Bachelor's Degree Official Transcripts for all institutions previously attended by the applicant Honor Code Commitment Ecclesiastical Endorsement Minimum 3.0 cumulative undergraduate grade point average from an American university with regional accreditation or a 3.0 overall grade point average from an institution of higher learning outside the US. Some programmes may require a higher GPA Non-USA applicants must demonstrate English proficiency skills. Some departments may have higher requirements. Job placements
The Career Development Office helps students by informing, resourcing, and training. It markets the law school and the graduates and develops programmes for job-hunting graduates. In addition, they provide career counselling to students and facilitate job searches with advanced technologies. It helps them collect and report employment data.
