Life at Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies

The School of Global Studies encourages students to form close-knit communities with people sharing similar interests or passions. There are multiple opportunities available on campus that the students can take advantage of to enhance both professional and personal growth.

Whether students are interested in being part of a community concerned with social justice or global issues, the School has student organisations for everyone. The students can explore the options and choose the community they wish to join. For example, Politica is an organisation that acts as a seat for all kinds of political discussions on campus.

The School also has provisions for maintaining the student's fitness. The fitness centre for the students is popular by the name FitRec, which boasts a massive area of about 18,000 sq ft. It has a cardio room, an indoor climbing wall, a lazy river, a Pro Shop, an indoor running track, and much more. Whether the students want to take regular yoga classes or de-stress before any event or exam, the FitRec is the go-to place for all. Zumba classes and sailing training in the Charles River are popular choices among the students. More than 6500 students, faculty and staff regularly work out or de-stress at the FitRec.

The Towers is one of the popular choices among students pursuing master's degrees from the School. Located on Bay Road, the place is created in a dormitory-style where the students live in double rooms but on single-sex floors. The unique characteristic of this place is that it also features speciality rooms for students from specific disciplines. Every space has study and TV lounges, a music room, vending machines, mail rooms, outdoor bike racks, etc.

Apart from the housing options, the School also takes good care of the nutritional requirements and recreation of the students. The George Sherman Union is the centre of life at the School of Global Studies. Students come to this place to eat, study, organise and attend events, etc. Most student organisations recruit students from the GSU since it is the hub for all recreational activities. The Farmers' Market is also hosted annually during the fall at GSU.

Admissions criteria

[Guidance for US Schools] Admission requirements at the Frederick S.Pardee School ofGlobal Studies include the following:

Application fee of $90 to $100 at the final step of the application. Unofficial transcripts from all the previously attended institutes, irrespective of the time period. Three letters of recommendation to be considered for admission. A statement of purpose addressing the reason for joining the course. A resume or CV mentioning all the publications, work history, internships, awards, etc. LSAT, GMAT, or GRE scores are not mandatory for every program. The students must check with respective program requirements for the details.

For international students, the documents as mentioned above are mandatory; additionally, they must submit a few more. English Proficiency test scores to be considered for the shortlisting. Min cut-off for the tests varies depending on the program. Students must check the official website for details.
