About the school
The College of Allied Health Sciences has a rich history that began in 1937 when the Medical College of Georgia introduced medical technology training at University Hospital Allied Health. The programmes have continued to grow and evolve, with the medical illustration programme now offering a Bachelor's degree with accreditation. The 1980s were a time of innovation and expansion, with the Department of Radiologic Technologies introducing nuclear medicine and radiation therapy programmes. Respiratory Therapy and Health Information Management also saw significant growth during this period. In the 2010s, the institution's name was changed to Augusta University. Noted alums include Judith Stallings (Physician assistant course), David Bachand (Physician assistant course), and Tammi Balk Pavey (Physician assistant course). Admissions criteria

- You can submit official scores from either the TOEFL or the IELTS
- Ensure that these scores are acquired within two years from the application date
- The minimum accepted score for TOEFL is 79 for internet-based and 213 for computer-based exams
- For the IELTS, an overall minimum score of 6.5 is mandatory If you are applying for graduate programmes and meet specific criteria, you may qualify for a waiver of the English proficiency exam requirement. This is applicable if you prove you have earned a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree from a U.S. college or university accredited by a regional body. The waiver can be granted once you submit an official transcript confirming the successful completion of your degree. Transcripts: If you apply from a foreign educational institution, you must use an approved transcript evaluation service. Augusta University acknowledges official evaluations of your transcripts on a per-course basis. Insurance: The mandatory student health insurance policy can come up to $1,853. If you opt for voluntary health premiums the university offers, you may have to pay up to $2,587.
