Wayne State is one of the 50 largest public universities in the US, founded in 1868, with nearly 350 degree and certificate programmes. The College of Engineering is one of the 13 schools and colleges at Wayne State University. Founded in 1933, it offers over 50 degree and diploma options.
Three of the College's graduate programmes are ranked in the top 100 in the country by U.S. News & World Report. Furthermore, it is one of two colleges in Michigan that provides a four-year degree course in metallurgical engineering technology, demonstrating its commitment to innovation and talent development.

Students at Wayne State University's College of Engineering can participate in various on-campus organisations, including the Engineering Student Senate and the American Society of Engineers. The college provides accommodation and residential amenities to establish a vibrant living-learning community. In partnership with the Office of Housing & Residential Life, the University’s Engineering Living-Learning Community (LLC) provides students with a concentrated academic and personal development setting.
Among the residences that cater to students' distinctive requirements are Anthony Wayne Drive Apartments, Chatsworth Suites, Leon H. Atchison Hall, The Towers Residential Suites, University Tower Apartments, and Ghafari Hall. Dining Services, including customisable meal plans, are also provided to residents, ensuring that students are well nourished and motivated for their academic endeavours.
The campus also provides various academic resources, including libraries. The University libraries provide a variety of materials, services, and programmes to aid in education, research, and community participation. Two of the most notable libraries are the Arthur Neef Law Library and the Purdy/Kresge Library. Furthermore, the University works with the University of Michigan's School of Information Sciences and the Detroit Area Library Network to provide students with additional resources.

The College of Engineering provides its students with various additional benefits. The Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) helps students navigate their path to success, whether they are continuing their education, transferring, or participating in an international exchange!
The Academic Success Center (ASC) offers comprehensive academic support to students through a variety of activities such as tutoring, peer and professional guidance, educational seminars, and more. Other subject-specific learning centres at the ASC consist of the Chemistry Learning Center and the Math Resource Center.
The Emerging Scholars Program is another resource made accessible to students at the College to assist them with their mathematics studies and prepare them for future study in engineering. It is a two-credit-hour programme that combines regular math lessons with extra help and resources.
