Life at the School for Business and Society
The Department of Social Policy and Social Work has been combined with the University of York Management School to produce the first School of its kind, the School for Business and Society. The diversity of their student body is a direct result of their great emphasis on extending involvement in their student recruitment efforts. The University offers on-campus housing centred around the 11 college communities comprising its small parkland campus. Postgraduate students have the option of self-catered single rooms or studio apartments, both of which are conveniently placed on the small campus and close to university resources. For off-campus accommodations, the university maintains a separate webpage. Students may check out the Off Campus Housing website for additional details. The meals are served all across campus and feature a wide variety of food appropriate for the student's needs and interests. Through the Meals in Advance Deal (MAD), students can buy their meals in advance. The University offers free bus transportation throughout the campus and along designated city routes. Parking on campus is also available with a valid parking permit (purchased from the online parking permit system).
Additional benefits of studying at the School for Business and Society
The School provides a Student Hub to support students and answer their queries during their programme at the University. They also provide advice to students about their health-related concerns, accommodations, or immigration process. Disability Services are also offered that provide advice to students and promote inclusivity across the University. Apart from this, the student communities at the University ensure that students feel included and make the most of their educational experience.
