About the school
In 1965, the School of Science was created at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA), then known as the Arlington State College. The School was later renamed as the College of Science in 1973. The College is now a shining beacon of science education and research. The University of Texas at Arlington is classified as a Research 1 University - the highest research activity by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.
Notable alumni of the University include Shahrzad Amirani (vice president, head of new products and innovation at Ipsen Biopharma), Wesley Wampler ( vice president of research and development at Sid Richardson Carbon and Energy) and Theron L. Bowman ( CEO of Theron L. Bowman Inc.).

The University of Texas at Arlington houses over 300 student organisations catering to various interests including academics, volunteer work, career development, and local community services. Students can interact, work together, and follow their passions while being a member of any of the student bodies.
On-campus accommodation is available in four residence halls and seven apartment buildings. The room options in residence halls are double suites and private suites. The apartments feature single occupancy to four-room units.
UTA Dining serves several locations on the Campus. It has two all-you-can-eat centres called the Maverick Cafe and the Connection Cafe. Students can find traditional retail dining options including a brick-oven-style pizzeria and a speciality grill. The meal plans provided by the UTA Dining are summer meal plans and on-the-go meal plans.
The university also has a thriving sports culture. The Campus Recreation provides facilities like intramural sports, aquatics, a climbing wall, Campus Recreation Fields Complex, etc. The Maverick Activities Center houses a fitness room, multipurpose rooms, courts, gymnasium and more.
The Parking and Transportation Services of the University of Texas at Arlington provides shuttle services for the students to commute inside the campus. The MavMover buses and rapid self-driving shuttles are also available. Students can depend on the off-campus shopping shuttle to travel outside the Campus.

Students can take part in the studies being carried out at various facilities and centres like the Center for Renewable Energy, Science and Technology, Center of Excellence for High Energy Physics, Collaborative Laboratories for Environmental Analysis and Remediation, Shimadzu Center for Bio-Molecular Imaging, etc. The UTA Planetarium is a major spot on the Campus.

Admissions criteria
