There are multiple residence halls available all across the campus. Living on campus is a great opportunity for the students to socialise and build a community. Some factors students often consider while choosing their residence halls include- convenience, amenities, location, academic, and residential communities. For example, students residing in Earl Hall get a chance to be a part of the Health Gender Expansive community and Healthy Living community, while Justice Bean Hall has access to Business communities, Quiet communities, etc. The students can find the rates of various resident halls on the official website, including the Carson-based meal plan.
The institute takes care of all the nutritional needs of the students and makes its best efforts to meet the specific demands. There are multiple meal plans available for residential students as well as for those living off-campus. The students must choose their residential meal plan while registering for the residence halls. However, if they decide to change their meal plan, they can do so anytime in between.
The college also has provisions for providing catering services exclusively for the students of the university. The University Catering is a full-service catering company that handles all the food requirements during any event. The catering service works sustainably, making the business as environmentally friendly as possible.
Additional benefits of studying at College of Arts and Sciences
When living on campus, the students are encouraged to find people of common interests and join a community. It helps build a sense of self and foster higher values like inclusivity, diversity, leadership, etc. Two types of communities are available on campus– the Academic Residential Communities and the Residential Communities.
The Academic Residential communities are for those who love to learn and grow with students sharing the same passions, interests and identities. Students who are a part of the ARCs often take various classes together and connect with the professors and advisors who help and support them academically and socially. In most cases, people who love to be a part of these groups reside in buildings with special spaces dedicated to design studios, music rooms and maker spaces.
Residential communities are different groups of people sharing similar interests and passions outside academics. They often conduct various events, making college life fun and vibrant.

Admissions criteria
Every aspiring student wishing to pursue a master's degree from the College of Arts and Sciences must meet some eligibility criteria. The students are enrolled based on a holistic review by the admission department, after which they receive the offer letter. The requirements for enrolling in any of the courses at CAS include: The application is done through Slate, a centralised application portal for graduate students Once the application is completed, the students must submit the fee The applicants must upload a comprehensive resume Uploading a personal statement is mandatory Two letters of recommendation should be submitted GRE test results or a writing sample may not be mandatory for all the disciplines A GPA score above 3.30 is preferred Unofficial transcripts from all the previously attended institutes The students must request the institutions to send the official transcripts directly to the Office of the Registrar once they get accepted
For international students applying for a master's degree at the College of Arts and Sciences, the additional requirements are: Students must submit official scores of English proficiency tests like TOEFL and IELTS The cutoff for these tests varies from one programme to another
Job placements
The Students graduating from the College of Arts and Sciences are often employed in some of the world's most prestigious companies and institutes. The average starting salary for some disciplines of CAS is $100,910 Some recent placements are in Johns Hopkins University, Oregon Department of Education, ADM associates, etc.
