Admissions criteria
To apply for the MBA programme and Master of Accounting at UNC Kenan-Flagler, complete the online application, which involves setting up an account and providing basic personal details. The application comprises various components:
Bachelor’s Degree: The candidate must have a bachelor's degree from a US-accredited university or an international equivalent
Work Experience: The candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of experience, while 5 years is recommended
Essays: Respond to two required essay questions and an optional one. These essays should succinctly address topics such as your immediate career goals, the impact of an MBA on your aspirations, a significant positive project or initiative you were involved in, and additional information about yourself
Letter of Recommendation: One professional recommendation is required, preferably from a supervisor. If you lack post-graduate work experience, an academic or professional recommendation is accepted
Resume: Provide a concise, professional overview of your education, employment, and achievements
Transcripts: Submit transcripts from all academic institutions attended for undergraduate and graduate studies, including transfer credits and courses from outside the U.S. English translations are required if the original documents are not in English
Test Scores: Self-report unofficial GMAT, GRE, TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE Academic scores in the application. Upon acceptance and enrollment, official test scores must be submitted before commencing studies at UNC Kenan-Flagler
English Language Exam: Non-native English speakers need to provide an English-language test score (TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE Academic)
GMAT/GRE Waiver: Waivers are available for specific criteria like GPA, advanced degrees, professional certificates, and more. Waiver requests must be submitted by the specified deadline
Interview: Selected candidates may be invited to an in-person or virtual interview after submitting a complete application
Residency Form: If you qualify for in-state residency, complete a residency form within the application
