Founded in 1895, the college offers over 40 graduate and undergraduate degrees. The University of Massachusetts–Lowell has over 250 student organisations and clubs that can help students discover new passions and fuel old ones, meet people from different backgrounds, and develop social and professional skills. Admissions criteria

An application to the university should ideally include the following types of information:

• Completed online application form
• Statement of purpose (outlining work history, academic background, goals, awards etc.)
• Two recommendation letters (three for doctoral programmes)
• Official transcripts from previous institutions in both English and native language
• GRE: Requirement and minimum score depend on the chosen programme
• GPA: 3.0 or above
• Proof of English proficiency: TOEFL (79)/IELTS (6.5)
• TOEFL exemption: If you are a citizen of Canada (except Quebec), United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Guyana, and English-speaking countries in West Indies and Africa/completed a minimum of 2 academic semesters of full-time university study in the USA
