With educational programmes that date back over 100 years, the College of Engineering is considered one of the best colleges in the US to pursue an engineering postgraduate degree. At the University of Iowa, students mostly reside in one of the 11 official residence halls, which are located on both the east and west sides of the campus. Students can choose between suit-style residence halls and traditional residence halls. There are four types of furnished rooms available - single, double, triple, and quad. Air conditioning, high-speed internet, and laundry services are some of the basic facilities available at the campus residence. While the fitness centre takes care of the students’ physical and mental well-being, the study lounges ensure that they can peacefully concentrate on their education.
As for off-campus accommodations, students can conveniently rent out one of the apartments surrounding the campus. The Parking and Transportation Department enables students to seamlessly roam around within and outside the campus. Additionally, the environment-friendly CAMBUS takes community members around the campus for free and offers 19,000 fixed-route rides every day.
Apart from the basic convenience stores, there are campus cafes and market places available near the residence halls. Studying students can choose a meal plan that fits their schedule, lifestyle, and budget. Meal plans at the university include both flex swipes and marketplace meals.
