Life at College of Engineering

Life at the College is exciting. The Micron Student Center acts as the pivot, bringing together staff, students, and career counsellors—all forms of student support are offered in one place. There are a host of housing options that the students get to enjoy. The well-planned university apartments with all the amenities are wonderful places of accommodation and are best for graduate students. Graduate students can live in the on-campus apartments: Elmwood, South Hill Vista, and South Hill. There are options for living with family, too. One of the key features of the on-campus apartments is the on-call Apartment Community Assistant (ACA), who offers great support, takes charge of general administration, and ensures the development and implementation of all things planned to make student life seamless in the apartment communities. Every month, a new family-based activity is planned and executed to ensure interaction and connection among the members of the on-campus apartments. The dining on campus option offered to students is a finely crafted complementary experience for students at the University of Idaho. The meal plan options are kept flexible and designed to meet the dietary needs and varied tastes of the students. To ensure that food becomes a community experience and satiates the palate, on-trend menus are curated and rustled up with local ingredients. The Idaho Parking and Transportation Services (PTS) team is prompt and proactive, ensuring seamless transportation services are offered to students. Travelling in and around the campus is mostly done by foot and bicycle. For covering longer distances in quick time, there are transportation options. Vandal Access Service provides students with disabilities access to facilities that are helpful.

Every year, student teams from the Department of Computer Science prepare themselves to take part in the CyberForce Competition organised by the U.S. Department of Energy. Admissions criteria

Meeting graduate admission requirements is necessary for studying at the University of Idaho. Individual graduate degree programmes may have additional requirements. College of Engineering career advising liaison helps students in their career exploration path. By signing up for an appointment, students can get career counselling assistance. A drop-in facility for job consultation is also offered. Career Finder acts as a data mine, providing students with information on current job postings, wages, employment opportunities, training, and more. Over 94% of the students get job offers while pursuing graduate programmes or grab one after competition. The college organises job fairs, which include 200 employers offering jobs to the students.
