Courses we support
Cincinnati University's College of Engineering was founded in 1900. In 1969, the College of Applied Science, formerly called Ohio Mechanics Institute, merged with the University of Cincinnati (UC). Over the years, the two colleges came to be known as the University of Cincinnati - College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS).
The University campus has undergone new construction and significant renovations to surpass LEED Silver sustainability standards. The US News & World Report has consistently ranked the University among the top 5 educational institutions in the US, primarily for its unique cooperative education programme.
UC-CEAS has a long list of distinguished alumni. Still, the names of Joseph B. Strauss (chief engineer of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, California) and Steve Kuhn (co-founder of Sevan Multi-Site Solutions) stand out.
Surrounded by hills, Cincinnati sits in a picturesque location between the Little Miami and Great Miami rivers. The cost of living in Cincinnati is comparatively lower than the national average.

UC-CEAS job placement
- UC-CEAS emphasises the value of cooperative education, or "co-op", in developing highly skilled engineers.
- UC-CEAS created the cooperative education (co-op) programme over a century ago. The College still boasts a top-5 ranking by US News nationally for co-op programmes.
- Co-op enables students to alternate semesters between full-time work in their major and classroom study, which helps pay for college.
- On average, students earn $57,000 throughout their co-op experiences and explore 5 different co-op positions based on their interests.
- Participating in co-op can help reduce debt, often leading to job offers before graduation. Students can work locally or globally in businesses ranging from small research programmes to Fortune 500 companies such as Apple, Microsoft, and Procter & Gamble.
- The co-op schedule typically includes 35+ hours per week for 15-18 weeks per semester, with on-site, remote, or on-campus work options.
- During their co-op experience, 75% of students receive a job offer from the company where they completed their placement.
- Throughout their college career, students earn an average of $56,000 while participating in co-op.
- The Professional and Technical Career Fair is organised collaboratively by multiple organisations, including the College of Cooperative Education and Professional Studies, CEAS Tribunal, Lindner Career Services, and the Lindner Students Association. Its primary goal is to provide virtual connections between job seekers and potential employers. For those actively seeking job opportunities, one-on-one sessions are recommended, while group sessions are suggested for those who want to explore different career paths.
