The University of California Riverside (UCR) established the Graduate School of Administration in 1970. The School was later renamed twice, as the Graduate School of Management in 1982 and the A. Gary Anderson Graduate School of Management in 1995. Now, it is known as the School of Business, housing the A. Gary Anderson Graduate School of Management as a separate unit. University of California Riverside - The Association accredits the School of Business to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). In 2023, U.S. News & World Report ranked the School's MBA programme at 89 in the Top 100 MBA Programmes list. Notable graduates of the School of Business include Darin Anderson (CEO of Salas O’Brien) and Chris Lam (CEO and president of Pucci Foods). The University of California Riverside’s School of Business is a globally recognised top-tier business school. Nearly 20,000 alumni call it home, and for almost 40 years, it has given students an excellent professional education in the extensive field of business. The University offers three on-campus housing options for students, including suite and traditional-style residence halls, campus apartments, and family housing. The off-campus housing website lists available rentals near the Campus. Students can use the meal plan they purchase to dine at any eatery located on the Campus, like the campus dining, Hub Plaza dining, residential dining, Emerbee’s, and more. They can grocery shop and buy beverages and meals from the markets at Glen Mor and Northern District and Scotty’s convenience stores. UCR students can travel on the Riverside Transit Agency (RTA) buses for free. Bus stops are situated near the campus. The University provides bike facilities for students to commute inside the campus.

The UCR School of Business is a centre of excellence in teaching and research. In 2009, the School constructed a behavioural choice lab in response to the growing importance of experimental research across all business sectors. The lab has 32 modern, networked terminals and monitors for conducting experiments. Researchers and PhD students from the UCR School of Business test their hypotheses here. The lab is a classroom where students converse electronically.
