About the school
The School of Arts and Sciences at Tufts University is one of the country's oldest schools in this field; it was established almost 170 years ago. It introduced the graduate programmes in 1904, after which it became vastly popular among students globally. It aims to achieve intellectual and artistic engagement. They are able to do so through liberal arts and sciences tradition that prepares every student for a successful career in the field. The school offers more than 60 graduate programmes to choose from. Even though it is a small city with less population, Medford is a perfect place for students opting for higher studies. Being just five miles away from Boston, it offers the students lots of opportunities that allow them to excel in their respective fields.
Life at School of Arts and Sciences
As a student of the School of Arts and Sciences, the students are exposed to various activities and programmes. The institute and the various student communities organise them to keep the students motivated and happy during their time in the school.
The Office For Campus Life is the body that oversees all the activities conducted by the student organisations. There are more than 300 student organisations and honorary societies that conduct various events all year long. The Graduate Student Organisation is dedicated solely to the students pursuing master's degrees at the School. It has various student groups officially recognised by the Graduate Student Council.
The school also makes arrangements for students to live on the campus for the ease of facilities. As a graduate student, one is eligible for transitional on-campus student housing. Even though there is a limited number of rooms allocated for graduate students, it is enough to accommodate most of them evenly spread over the three buildings on the southern edge of the campus. Each accommodation has a common room, lounge, and shared bathrooms. A single kitchen per house is shared by all the occupants living there. Apart from these, all the rooms are furnished with a twin XL bed frame or a mattress, a desk set, a closet and a drawer set.

Admissions criteria
A student wanting to apply to the School of Arts and Sciences must fulfil specific criteria before they are considered for the degree. To qualify for the programme, students are required to submit the below documents on the school’s website:
