Established in 1920, Texas Tech University (TTU) is the sixth-largest University in the state by enrolment.
Texas Tech's business college was set up in 1942 and renamed the College of Business Administration in 1956. It is now called the Rawls College of Business after alumnus Jerry S. Rawls gifted the college $25 million in 2000.
Rawls College received accreditations for its undergraduate course in 1958, Master’s degree in 1981, and special accounting in 1982 from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
For 2023-2024, U.S. News & World Report ranks Rawls College No. 107 in Best Business Schools and No. 109 in Part-time MBA, nationally. Rawls College’s alumni include Mark Smith (president, Institutional Clients Group, Citi), Jay D. Browning (executive VP, Valero Energy), and Angela Braly (Board member, ExxonMobil), among a long list.
