About the school

The College of Liberal Arts, which was later called the "College of Arts and Sciences," was founded many years ago in 1870. The College launched the country's first bachelor of fine arts programme in 1874, after which the institution's popularity grew immensely.

The College of Arts and Science at Syracuse University aims to bring out the extraordinary in the students through the efforts of highly qualified faculty. The College stands as the intellectual hub of the University. The internationally recognised faculty and remarkable supporting staff work in unison to provide the students with all the opportunities out there. The faculty mentors the students to become research-driven, innovative and dynamic in liberal arts experience. This ensures the students achieve the zenith of academic success in the long run. With over 70,000 alumni that remain connected to the institution, it helps the students by working as advisory board members, student mentors, financial trip sponsors and even immersion trip sponsors.

Location of the school

Syracuse, although a small city, is the 13th most populated one in the state of New York. It is home to hundreds of students, scholars and researchers coming to the country to pursue higher education and better/explore better job opportunities.

Life at the College of Arts and Sciences is much more than just the four walls of the classroom. As a student of the College, one gets introduced to a bold and spirited community where there is something for everyone.

There are 21 residential halls and 1100 apartments available for the students. 55% of the students live in one of these on-campus housings. Since there are so many options for the students, the housing selection lottery takes place every March before the spaces are allocated. Different types of accommodation options are available for the students. One can choose between single, double, triple, quadruple and even six-person accommodations.

Along with the rooms, the students can also choose their meal plans per their preference. The list of meal plans is available on the College's official website. The institute always ensures no matter in which part of the campus the student is tasty, easy and healthy food options are always a minute away. Five residential dining centres are operating from breakfast to dinner. There are more than 22 places to eat on campus, so as a student, worrying about good food is not an option at the College of Arts and Sciences.
