Organisations trust that MScAC students can address their research and development and innovation goals, with students having the opportunity to complete their internship in an array of different locations, from for-profit corporations, research institutions, hospitals and hospital networks, to not-for-profit organisations and more.

Approximately 90% of students each year are made an offer to stay at their internship company on completion of the program, with most of the alumni population calling Canada or the USA their second-home.

Students also have the ability to progress on to the PhD program following the MScAC, gaining admission to top-tier institutions across the globe.

Admission Requirements

All applicants must have:

  • Completed or be the process of completing an appropriate undergraduate degree for the concentration they are applying to.

  • A standing equivalent to at least B+ (U of T 77-79%) in their final year (i.e., two terms) of study (the equivalent of 5 full credits, or 10 half credits).

  • Achieved English-language proficiency according to the requirements set by the School of Graduate Studies.

  • Work experience (including co-op placements or internships) is preferred, but not required.

  • Research experience (including summer research assistantships or internships) is preferred, but not required.

Applicants will also be required to complete four (4) short essay questions as part of the process, and any applicant we are seriously considering for admission will be required to complete an interview.

Services for International Students

Students in the MScAC program have a dedicated team of people to support them through the program, covering everything from academic progress and course selection to internship finding and professional skills training. 

The University also provides students with an array of resources. International students have access to the Centre for International Experience (CIE). CIE offer a range of programs and services to support international students on their journey.

There is also a designated Housing Services team, who can help find students a great home in Toronto.
