- Assemble a committee of certified graduate faculty to approve the plan of study, with a minimum committee size of three faculty members, including a major professor who serves as the chair
- At least 51 percent of the courses in the plan of study must be in CNIT or TECH courses
- At least 51 percent of all credits must be earned while registered at Purdue University's West Lafayette campus
- A cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) greater than 3.00 (out of 4.00) for all courses applied to the degree
- A maximum of 6 credits of courses with a grade lower than B- in the plan of study
- A four-year bachelor's degree or its equivalent
