Opportunities to interact with the campus community and those of the surrounding area are provided via student organisations, events, internships, CO-OPs, and volunteer work.
Portland State University offers eight distinctive campus residence halls and apartment-style structures. These safe, affordable accommodations for students are close to the campus' educational facilities, allowing them to commute with ease.
The school also offers easily accessible transportation services for students’ convenience. This comprises free streetcars, discounted public transit, free biketown, and other great options at affordable prices.
The international student life team plans affordable events, workshops, and activities to promote relationships, learning new skills, and exploration of Oregon. The Organisation of International Students (OIS) conducts weekly Intercultural Coffee Hours, the Craft Session, etc., and themed events such as the Halloween Party and International Night. Admissions criteria
Applying for graduate school admission to the School of Business is quite easy. The following are some admission criteria that graduate applicants need to meet to secure admission: - Personal essay or statement of purpose - Recommendation letters - Standardised test scores such as GRE (not required by all programmes) - Writing samples - Resume - Portfolio - Copies of degree certificate/diploma - Transcripts copies and certified translations of transcripts for non-English students - Financial documentation demonstrating adequate financial support for at least the first year of study - Proof of English language proficiency [TOEFL (minimum 80), PTE (overall 60), DET (overall 120), IELTS (minimum 6.5)] - Minimum GPA of 3.0 - A non-refundable application fee and processing fee - Vaccination certificate (measles and COVID-19) Please consult the school’s necessary admissions and financial aid websites for detailed information and any updates to this information.
Job placements
The University Career Centre provides unique resources and services to meet students' career development and job search needs. The institute partners with employers for various opportunities and supports students throughout their career journey. - International students can work on campus if it doesn't interfere with their studies or degree completion. There are several non-hourly options as well as regular hourly employment available. - Curricular Practical Training (CPT) is a work authorisation available at the School of Business that enables international students to complete off-campus practicals, co-ops, or internships that count towards their degree requirements. - International students can work off-campus in their primary field of study for up to 12 months with the help of Optional Practical Training (OPT). Students who start a new degree programme at a higher level are eligible for a fresh 12-month OPT term. - Launch-in-9 capstone is a programme for technology/business students to gain the skills and business knowledge needed to succeed in the competitive job market/startup community. - The Athletic and Outdoor Connect student group links students with industry leaders and resources to create lasting relationships and build strong networks.
