Founded in 1878 as the Mississippi Agricultural and Mechanical College, the University admitted its first students in 1880. Admissions criteria
The International Services Office (ISO) at the University provides immigration advice, document issuing, and other campus-related amenities for international students and scholars on campus. After completing the personal detail form, international learners must provide the following supplementary supporting documents: - Statement of purpose - Three letters of recommendation - The applicant's undergraduate transcripts, which must be translated into English - A graduate admissions test result: GMAT, GRE, or LSAT - Proof of proficiency in English (TOEFL/IELTS) - Resume/CV - Writing sample - GPA: 3.0+ - Proof of English proficiency: You must obtain the minimum score in the following exams to be eligible- TOEFL: 525/197/71 (depending on different programmes), IELTS: 6.0, English section of the ACT: 19, and Evidence-Based Reading and Writing Section of the SAT: 510.
