Life at the College of Engineering and Architecture
The mission of the CEA Office of Student Services is to promote academic excellence and enable the CEA vision of creating learning environments. The institute awards merit and need-based scholarships to current students. Each CEA student is assigned a faculty advisor whom they should meet at least once each semester to review academic progress and make course selections for the following semester. There are various opportunities for summer courses and internships, career counselling, and balancing school and personal responsibilities. Students can join various clubs and associations like Geography Clubs, Greek Letter Organisations, Honor Societies, International Clubs, School and Department Clubs, Sports Clubs, Student Religious Organisations, etc.

Several activities take place within the studio of CEA, which encourages students to share their divergent views and a myriad of perspectives to give out a responsive design resolution. Admissions criteria
Students must visit the Howard University Office of Admissions for more details, including deadlines and instructions for domestic and international admissions. The requirement include:
- Academic transcripts with a minimum GPA of 2.0
- A portfolio of creative work with a minimum of one and a maximum of three examples of creative expression in graphic, written, or audiovisual form
- Graphic submissions of drawings, paintings, renderings, photographs, models, sculptures, etc., should be no larger than 11" x 17"
- Written submissions in the form of a 400-word essay describing a creative activity
- Audiovisual submissions to convey the range of capabilities of the applicant Admission requirements for international students are the same as for domestic students, with the exception that all international applicants, including those from U.S. institutions, must submit: -Evidence of passing the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a cumulative score of 550 or higher

Howard University College of Engineering and Architecture encourages corporate and community-based partnerships that elevate its capacity to provide an impactful academic experience that further prepares graduates to become global leaders and make valued contributions to society as engineers, architects, and computer scientists. Corporate and community-based partnerships enrich the student experience. The alumni have been essential in developing and maintaining these partnerships that provide valuable experience to our students. The career guidance cell further prepares students for promising careers in industry. The department provides the following services: - Host career fairs exclusive to disciplines such like architecture, chemical engineering, civil and environmental engineering, computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering - The team provides an extensive opportunity for industry support and sponsorship and is complementary to Howard University's career fairs for all majors - Help with resume writing, interview preparation, and opportunities to interact with industrial leaders and companies
