The George Washington University - School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) was founded in 1884. Housing assignments are not first-come, first-served but can accommodate specific needs through Disability Support Services. Assignments are communicated in late June, with a waitlist for unassigned students and potential room swaps later. Meals Students can get chef-inspired menus of diverse foods with excellent service. The university provides Student Meal Plans per class year. Various dining options are available on campus at Foggy Bottom and Mount Vernon locations, with around 80 off-campus partners also accepting Campus Cash and Dining Dollars as payment. Students can also explore Washington, D.C.'s food scene at various restaurants. Transportation The Foggy Bottom campus is well-served by various transportation options, including the Foggy Bottom-GWU Metrorail Station (Blue, Silver, and Orange Lines), Virginia and Maryland buses, and Metrobus routes. A SmarTrip card simplifies travel and can be bought at metro rail stations and online. The U•Pass Student Transit Programme offers full-time students unlimited discounted access to Metrorail and Metrobus. Other facilities include the Virginia Rail Express, the DC Circulator, Maryland's MARC Train, and Amtrak. Admissions criteria
