Admissions criteria
Applicants to Mannheim Business School should hold an internationally recognized academic degree in any discipline, typically with a minimum B+ average at the undergraduate level. A minimum of three years of postgraduate work experience is mandatory, along with demonstrated leadership potential/experience and international exposure. Fluency in English is required, evidenced by a TOEFL iBT score of at least 95, an IELTS Academic score of at least 7, or an equivalent. Candidates must also submit a GMAT or GRE score, with a recommended minimum of 600 on the GMAT (10th Edition), 565 on the GMAT Focus Edition, or an equivalent GRE score. Applicants achieving a GMAT score of 650 or higher, a GMAT Focus Edition score of 615 or higher, or an equivalent GRE score are eligible for a €200 discount in recognition of their performance. APS certification is required for applicants who obtained their first degree in China, Vietnam, or India. While knowledge of German is not mandatory, applicants are strongly encouraged to begin studying the language prior to the start of the program.
The admissions process
Step 1: Submission of a complete application, including all required documents. Once the application has been reviewed, shortlisted candidates will be invited to Selection Interview 1, where they can introduce themselves and share their motivation for pursuing an MBA. Step 2: If the application progresses after the first interview, Selection Interview 2 will follow, accompanied by a Case Study. Step 3: After successful completion of the second, the Admissions Committee will make the Final Decision regarding an offer of a place in the program.
Job placements
Changing country, role, or industry - or even all three - can be challenging, but 97 % of recent Mannheim Business School graduates successfully made such transitions, with 42 % accomplishing all three. Many of these graduates now live and work in Germany. To support career ambitions, the school provides dedicated Career Development Managers and a comprehensive Career Development Curriculum, designed to help identify the ideal professional environment after the MBA and create a clear path to achieve it. Mannheim Business School provides a comprehensive career development program, including individual counseling to plan career moves across countries, industries, or functions; a Career Bootcamp to master CVs, cover letters, and networking; mock interviews and HR expert talks to prepare for recruitment; and access to online tools and platforms to support the career journey. Leadership skills are enhanced through Leadership Week, a real-life business simulation, and participants can take exclusive German language courses. Additionally, an optional Term 5 offers opportunities to lay the foundation for a business, study at partner institutions abroad, or complete an internship.
