How to get admission to Arizona State University?

Arizona State University is a top-ranking university, especially for engineering students. It has a high acceptance rate of 88%, making it easy to get into one of the Fulton Schools of Engineering. There are some specific competency requirements for admission. These include 4 years of math.

  • 4 years of English (non-ESL/ELL courses).
  • 3 years of lab sciences (1 year each from Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, or Physics).
  • 2 years of Social Sciences (including 1 year of American History).
  • 2 years of the same second language.
  • 1 year of fine arts or 1 year of career and technical education.

Remember that these are just the basic requirements. Some colleges within the university may have their own requirements besides the general university requirements.

For the students applying for five-year programs, it is mandatory to meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Be in the top 25% in high-school class.
  • Have more than a 3.00 GPA in competency courses.
  • An ACT score of 22 for Arizona residents (24 for non-residents) or an SAT Reasoning score of 1120 for Arizona residents (1180 for non-residents).

If you meet the requirements, the admission process will sail smoothly. But don’t get disheartened if you don’t meet the admission requirements. You can still join the first-year ASU program and earn your way into the remaining via the Earned Admission Track. However, you must submit a separate application and contact an enrollment advisor to Earn Admission.

There are additional requirements for international students applying to ASU. Besides the general university admission requirements, international students must submit: Official transcripts and examination results from the previous university/school.
