About the school
The Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan was established in 1924 and is popularly known as Michigan Business School or Michigan Ross. The business school, located in the university’s central campus in Ann Arbor, has been consistently ranked among the best business schools worldwide.

Bicycling is encouraged as the university is an environmentally conscious campus. Free intercampus buses are also available, while cab services and city transport are conveniently available around the campus.

Admissions criteria
A general set of admission requirements is as follows:
Complete the online application providing personal information and upload all required documents. Resume or CV required as part of the application process. Official transcripts along with a degree certificate showing the title earned, the date awarded, years of attendance, all courses taken, and grade for each course. Transcript, if not in English originally, must be translated. GRE/GMAT score may be required in case of admission in a master’s course. No such requirement for PhD applicants. An English proficiency test score is a must for international students. Requirements vary between programmes, but the general requirement is TOEFL (106 iBT), IELTS (7). Letters of recommendation from a teacher or academic advisor - the majority of the graduate programmes require 3 recommendations. An academic statement of purpose and personal statement is needed for PhD applicants, while a short answer for questions listed on the application site and an essay on career goals is needed for the master’s programmes. Additional considerations vary between programmes.
