Founded on the principle of health as a human right and the recognition of the importance of social justice as a means to achieve health for all, Dornsife is one of the top public health schools in the country. According to the U.S. News and World's Report 2023, Dornsife is ranked number 22 in the nation. The academic programmes of Dornsife are accredited by the Council of Education for Public Health (CPEH).

The Dornsife School of Public Health strives to provide education and the opportunity to conduct research and partner with communities and organisations to enhance population health in the country. It offers courses in master's programmes such as Master of Public Health, Master of Science Degree, Maternal and Child Health, Urban Health, Disability and Health Equity Policy, among others.

The Dornsife School of Public Health encourages students to engage in a variety of non-academic activities in addition to their studies.

Drexel University offers over 300 student clubs and organisations, catering to a wide range of interests. These clubs provide a platform for students to explore their passions and discover their strengths. The Greek Life at Drexel emphasises academics, leadership, and fostering lifelong connections. The university is committed to promoting inclusive education and scholarship through its Centre for Inclusive Education and Scholarship (CIES) which supports the academic growth of underrepresented and underserved students. Drexel also has a Centre for Black Culture (CBC) that serves as a dedicated resource for Black students, faculty, staff, and alumni, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone.

Dornsife has both an on and off-campus for graduates. In addition, the school offers gender-inclusive housing spaces. Students opting for off-campus housing can visit the University database to look for the best-suited apartment in and near Philadelphia. Also, the state-of-the-art Drexel Recreation Centre is the main attraction of Drexel. It includes everything - from club sports to personal fitness and a health and wellness centre. The Handschumacher Dining Centre and The Cafe at Perelman Centre for Jewish students are the two main dining areas at the school. Thus, the students can have a fun time at the campus.

Generally, applications require the following types of information:

  • The applicant's undergraduate transcripts, translated into English
  • Proof of proficiency in English (TOEFL - 100, DET (Duolingo English Test) - 120, IELTS - 7.0)

International Students

International students should complete the same form as native students, but the documents required for international admission may differ.

  • An English-translated academic transcript
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited body
  • Proof of proficiency in a local language (country-specific)

After being admitted, the University's Office of International Students and Scholars Services (ISSS) will provide detailed information on how to apply for the I-20 visa or DS-2019 for the F-1 visa.

Job placements

The Dornsife School of Public Health provides career counselling services to assist students in finding jobs and making informed decisions.
