Founded in 1867, Dartmouth College - Thayer School of Engineering is one of the country's oldest engineering institutions. Dartmouth Engineering develops the following generation of engineers to improve the world via research and education with human-centered effects by providing graduate degree programmes within an integrated engineering sciences department.
The School of Engineering offers - a Master of Engineering Management, Master of Engineering, and Master of Science. At Thayer School of Engineering, students take pride in balancing their academic, personal, and social life. Several student councils and groups foster communication and participation throughout the school. In addition, the School of Engineering Student Chapter organises outreach activities such as intramural sports and exam study sessions.
Also, the students have access to everything beyond Thayer's wall. After classes, students can participate in all outdoor adventures and recreations such as rock climbing, biking, hiking, and camping on the Appalachian Trail that passes directly through Hanover.
In winter, the students can participate in snow skating, sledding, and alpine skiing across the country in an open setting or along serene wooded trails. In addition to hiking and camping, Dartmouth has extensive athletic facilities, including indoor and outdoor tennis courts, running tracks, a football stadium, an Olympic-size indoor pool, a dance studio, a properly equipped weight room, and one of the finest ice arenas in the nation. The School of Engineering encourages students to participate in basketball, squash, racquetball, fencing, riflery, crew, and volleyball.
Dartmouth College has a Dartmouth rental housing facility comprising 540 on and off-campus units - all within two miles of the campus that are only available to graduate students. They have several options that range from studio apartments to single-family homes.
Some of the housing facilities offered include: - North Park, which is reserved for first-year graduates - Sachem Village is a family-friendly neighborhood that has 255 apartments and is equipped with a community center and playgrounds - In-town Rentals, apartments of various sizes are available to graduate students
All the housing options are within walking distance from the campus. Hence, the students are not required to travel long distances to attend the classes.

Admissions criteria
To apply for a master's degree at Thayer School of Engineering, the aspiring candidate must visit the official website of the school’s admission page, where they have to select the course they want to pursue. If they are confused about which course or programme to pick, the school helps them get on the right foot by comparing several available programs.
Then, fill in the application form with personal details such as email address, phone number, name (first and last name), education and work experience, etc. Once done, the form and a non-refundable application fee must be submitted.
