Prodigy Finance sponsors LBS Hackathon

Prodigy Finance - November 23, 2015

LBS-hackathon

It’s time for the London Business School Hackathon! We’re ever so excited for this year’s event as we’re one of the sponsors. Developing solutions is one of the core values of Prodigy Finance (indeed, our founders were looking for a solution to a very big challenge when we started). And, the LBS Hackathon is an excellent opportunity to support up and coming problem solvers in London.

This year’s Hackathon has a fintech twist and an incredible line up of speakers and mentors for the weekend of 27 through 29 November 2015. As part of our sponsorship, participants in this year’s Hackathon will be working on a challenge we’ve had on our radar for a very long time.

Could you solve this year’s Hackathon Challenge?

Hackers will be asked to address this problem:

Build a platform (web or mobile app) that would facilitate the flow of information between Prodigy and Prodigy loan recipients. This should engage both current and past students. The information collected should be useable for understanding our students and improving/expanding product offerings. How can we add value for students to encourage them to use the platform throughout their lifetime?

As a growing startup, we want the experience of each student to be seamless from the moment they register on our website, to the very last repayment that they make on a loan. After that, many of our former students choose to invest in the classes that follow them, and a virtuous cycle is started.

If you’ve joined as a participant, it’s time to get those ideas flowing. If you haven’t signed up as a participant, the deadline has unfortunately passed. But you can still follow all the action from anywhere in the world by checking out @LBSHackathon on Twitter. (And it’s never too early to start putting together a team for next year.)

Want to know more about the schedule and speakers for this year’s event? You’ll find plenty of information on the official LBS Hackathon website.
