The promoter of the Competition is Prodigy Finance Ltd (incorporated in England with company number 05912562), with its registered address at Palladium House, 1-4 Argyll Street, London, W1F 7LD ("Prodigy Finance"). 

  1. Eligibility: To enter the Competition and win any of the prizes, you must (1) be 18 years and older, (2) have the intention of studying a postgraduate degree internationally in 2020 or thereafter, (3) be able to travel internationally, including qualifying for a visitor’s visa for the Republic of South Africa (if applicable), (4) have a valid passport ("Participants"). Employees and agents of Prodigy Finance or any of its subsidiaries or affiliated companies and their immediate families and members of their households and anyone otherwise connected with operation or fulfilment of the Competition are not eligible to enter the Competition or receive any of the Prizes. Prodigy Finance reserves the right to require Participants to prove that they are eligible in accordance with these Rules before declaring the winner(s) and/or handing over the prize(s).

  2. Prizes: Eligible Participants stand a chance to win one of the following prizes, each recipient of a prize defined a “Winner” for the purpose of these Rules: (1) Grand Prizes (to be awarded to the first and second place Winners): An all-expenses-paid trip to visit the Prodigy Finance office in Cape Town and shall include (i) return flights in economy class from the closest international airport to the Winner’s home town to Cape Town, for the Winner’s chosen dates between 1 March 2020 and 31 December 2020, subject to the Promoter and the Winner agreeing on the period that the Winner will visit the Promoter’s Cape Town office, (ii) accommodation expenses for 7 days and 7 nights, (iii) the cost to secure a tourist visa to South Africa, if required, and (iv) a daily spending allowance of £25, or the equivalent in ZAR for 7 days. Any costs over and above those specified in clause 2 of these Rules shall be for the Winner’s own account. Grand Prize Winners will be given the opportunity to participate in activities as set out in the Competition website pages at, including but not limited to (i) taking part in team meetings and brainstorms with our Product, Tech and Marketing teams, (ii) leading focus groups to help influence the way we build our products, (iii) provide input on marketing materials and any other areas of interest. Prodigy Finance anticipates these activities shall take up approximately 20 hours of the 5 day work week the Winners will be in the Promoter’s Cape Town office. (2) Runner-up Prize (to be awarded to the third-place winner): Apple MacBook Air with 13.3-inch retina display, integrated touch ID sensor, 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, 128GB PCIe-based SSD, 8 GB of onboard memory, with approximate value of USD 1,100. This prize shall be sent to an address specified in writing by the Runner-up Prize winner, (3) Finalist Prizes (to be awarded to each of the finalists): The Finalist Prizes shall be a subscription for an online learning platform, including but not limited to LinkedIn Learning, Fandeng Spiritual Club, Coursera, Udemy, Udacity, Khan Academy, or any other online learning platform approved by the Promoter for up to USD 200. The Finalist prizes shall be purchased by Prodigy Finance on behalf of the Finalists for the online learning platform of their choice, subject to the discretion of Prodigy Finance.

  3. Application process: To enter the Competition Participants must complete the entry form online, which can be accessed by clicking on the following links:, and by providing (1) their name, email address and phone number, and (2) a motivational paragraph that meets the minimum word count specified and includes substantive motivation for the Participant to receive the Grand Prize. The Competition may only be entered once, and multiple applications will not increase a Participant’s chances to be chosen as a Winner for any of the Prizes. Prodigy Finance will only consider the first application submitted by a Participant and all additional applications will be deleted. Applications will open on 7th August at 8am EST and close on 31 December 2019, 8am EST ("Closing Date"), after which no further entries will be accepted.

  4. Selection of shortlisted finalists: Following the Closing Date, 15 Participants will be chosen by a panel of judges comprised of Prodigy Finance representatives to have an online meet-and-greet with a Prodigy Finance representative (“Finalists”). The Finalists will be selected from all eligible Participants who completed the entry process as per clause 3 of these Rules. The Finalists will be selected by the panel after review of the following: (1) the Participant’s substantive motivation for the application provided in the motivational paragraph, and (2) consideration of their intention to complete postgraduate studies abroad, as indicated in their entry form. Prodigy Finance reserves the right to conduct interviews and/or request additional information from Participants related to their Competition entry.

  5. Notification of Finalists: The 15 Finalists will be notified no later than 30 days following the Closing Date by e-mail to the email address provided when they entered the Competition. Participants who were not shortlisted as a Finalist will not be notified. For the avoidance of doubt, Prodigy Finance’s decision to select or not to select a Participant as a Finalist will in no way affect the status of his/her existing or future loan application or loan obligation, should the Participant also have a loan application or loan agreement with Prodigy Finance. If a Finalist does not respond to the email notification from Prodigy Finance or if the Finalist cannot be contacted (for example, a notification email is returned as undeliverable), such Finalist forfeits all rights to participate in the Competition and to receive a Prize; Prodigy Finance shall have no liability to the Participant whatsoever, and Prodigy Finance reserves the right to select an alternative Finalist.

  6. Selection of Prize Winners: Finalists will be invited to an online meet-and-greet with a Prodigy Finance representative. Once all of the meet-and greets with the 15 Finalists are complete, the Finalists will be ranked by a panel of Prodigy Finance judges taking into consideration (1) the content of the meet-and-greet, and (2) the Finalist’s motivational paragraph. The two (2) Finalists who rank the highest shall each receive the Grand Prize, and the Finalist with the third highest ranking shall receive the Runner-up Prize. All 15 Finalists shall receive a Finalist Prize. In event of a tie, the final recipients for the Grand Prize and/or the Runner-up Prize (whichever is applicable will be selected by a panel of 3 judges comprised of Prodigy Finance representatives. Prize winners agree to their personal details including name, photograph, and quotes being used in Prodigy Finance’s marketing materials.

  7. Notification of the Prize Winners: The Prize Winners will be notified on or around 21 February, 2020 by the email address or phone number provided in the Competition entries, with a public announcement to follow. A Finalist who has been notified in this way will only be eligible to receive the Grand Prize if they confirm in writing that they accept these Competition Rules, and can prove their eligibility per clause 2 of these Rules within 14 days of receiving the notification email. (and, for Participants based in the US, if they also sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, a Liability Release and a Publicity Release, if lawfully requested by Prodigy Finance) and provide any other documents or information that Prodigy Finance may reasonably require to establish the Participant’s eligibility, all within 14 days of receiving the notification email. Following receipt by Prodigy Finance of these documents and subsequent confirmation by Prodigy Finance of the Participant’s eligibility, the Participant will be the "Winner" for the purposes of these Rules. If the Finalist does not respond within this time frame and/or provide the documents requested by Prodigy Finance or if the Finalist cannot be contacted (for example, a notification email is returned as undeliverable), such Finalist forfeits all rights to the Prize, Prodigy Finance shall have no liability to the Finalist whatsoever, and Prodigy Finance reserves the right to select an alternative Winner for any of the Prizes.

  8. Taxes: RECEIPT OF THE AWARD TO THE POTENTIAL RECIPIENT ARE SUBJECT TO THE EXPRESS REQUIREMENT THAT (S)HE SUBMITS TO PRODIGY FINANCE DOCUMENTATION REQUESTED BY PRODIGY FINANCE, TO PERMIT IT TO COMPLY WITH ALL APPLICABLE FEDERAL, STATE, PROVINCIAL, LOCAL AND FOREIGN TAX REPORTING AND WITHHOLDING REQUIREMENTS. THE AWARDS WILL BE NET OF ANY TAXES PRODIGY FINANCE IS REQUIRED BY LAW TO WITHHOLD. ALL TAXES IMPOSED ON AWARDS ARE THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE RECIPIENT. In order to receive a Prize, the potential Winner may be required to submit the tax documentation requested by Prodigy Finance or otherwise required by applicable law, to Prodigy Finance or the relevant tax authority, all as determined by applicable law, including, where relevant, the law of the potential Winner’s country of residence. The potential Winner is responsible for ensuring that (s)he complies with all the applicable tax laws and filing requirements. If the potential Winner fails to provide such documentation or comply with such laws, the Prize may be forfeited, and Prodigy Finance may, in its sole discretion, select an alternative potential Winner.

  9. General conditions regarding the Go Global Competition: The Competition Prizes are as stated and are non-exchangeable, cannot be substituted and is non-transferable. There is no cash or other alternative to the Competition in whole or in part, unless otherwise provided in Prodigy Finance’s sole and unfettered discretion. By participating in the Competition, Participants agree that the Prizes are awarded on an "as is" basis, and that neither Prodigy Finance nor any of its subsidiary or affiliated companies, make any representations or warranties of any nature with respect to the Competition. In addition, Participants agree to cooperate fully with Prodigy Finance or its designated representatives in conjunction with the reporting of receipt of the Prizes to all appropriate governmental authorities as per applicable law.

  10. Right to cancel, modify or disqualify: In the event that, for reasons beyond Prodigy Finance’s reasonable control and not related to the Winners, Prodigy Finance is unable to award the Prizes as described in these Rules, Prodigy Finance reserves the right to award the cash value of the Prizes directly to the selected Finalists. Prodigy Finance reserves the right to modify, cancel, terminate or suspend the Competition in whole or in part, at its sole discretion, if it believes the Competition is not capable of being conducted as specified within these Rules or in the event of a virus, a computer bug or unauthorised human intervention or any other cause that is beyond the reasonable control of Prodigy Finance that could corrupt or affect the administration, security, impartiality or normal course of the Competition. In such event, Prodigy Finance shall use its reasonable efforts to make the prizes available in a manner that is fair, appropriate and consistent with these Rules as determined by Prodigy Finance in its sole discretion. Any Participant who acts with regard to the Competition in a manner, which in Prodigy Finance's reasonable determination is contrary to these Rules or by its nature is unjust to other Participants(including without limitation tampering with the operation of the Competition, providing false or misleading information when entering the Competition, cheating, hacking, deception or any other unfair playing practices such as intending to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other Participants or Prodigy Finance and/or any of its agents or representatives) may be rejected and excluded from the Competition at Prodigy Finance's sole discretion.

  11. Publicity: By accepting any of the prizes, the Winners accept that their names, photographs, voices, images, videos, likeness, addresses (city/state) may be featured in publicity materials relating to the Competition or Prodigy Finance generally, except where prohibited by law. This includes publishing the name, photograph and video of a Winner on Prodigy Finance’s website ( for a period of 3 months starting on the day they are confirmed as a Winner. The name and country / State of a Winner will also be made available to Participants, and the public on request by sending an email to no later than 31 December 2019.

  12. Privacy: Prodigy Finance will process Participants' personal information in order to conduct the Competition and it will be shared with Prodigy Finance's agents to the extent necessary to conduct the Competition. Participants' names and other personal details relating to their entry will be collected and stored by Prodigy Finance and held in accordance with the applicable privacy policy in place from time to time (see

Limitation of liability and indemnity: Prodigy Finance will not be responsible for any damage, loss or injury resulting from the Competition or and of the Winner’s acceptance and/or use of a prize, or for technical, hardware or software failures, lost, faulty or unavailable network connections or difficulties of any kind that may limit or prohibit Prodigy Finance’s offering of the Competition (including but not limited to Prodigy Finance’s attempts to notify Finalists of proceeding to the next round or the Winners whom have been selected to receive the prizes). Nothing in these Rules shall in any way limit Prodigy Finance's liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence or for any other matter where liability may not as a matter of law be limited. All Prodigy Finance's decisions in relation to the Competition are final and binding in all respects and are not subject to appeal. Prodigy Finance will not enter into any correspondence with Participants in respect of this Competition (other than those who have been selected to proceed to the final round). Prodigy Finance’s failure to enforce any provision of these Rules in a given instance shall not constitute the waiver of such provision.

  14. Social Media and Third Party Websites: This Programme is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn or any other Social Network or Third Party Website or Application. Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn or any other Social Network are released from any liability in conjunction with the Programme, so far as is permitted by law.

  15. Applicable law: The Competition and these Rules shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law and the court of England will have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to any disputes. Where applicable, to the fullest extent permitted by law, any such dispute must be brought individually (NOT as part of a class action), with recovery being limited to one’s actual costs in conjunction with participation in the Competition (if any) with all damages or other forms of recovery being expressly waived.
